Intramural Sports Update
Intramural sports were originally available for middle school students, but I am pleased to announce that we will also be opening up registration for 5th graders. We will have six club sports this Spring! The sports and time frames are as follows:
• Boys Basketball: January 17th-February 16th Mondays, Thursdays, & Friday
• Girls Volleyball: February 26th-March 21st Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays
• Girls Basketball: April 1st-May 3rd Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays
• Flag Football: April 29th-May 17th Mondays, Thursdays, & Fridays
• Boys Cross Country: April 29th-May 17th Mondays and Thursdays
• Girls Cross Country: April 29th-May 17th Mondays and Thursdays
Our intramural sports will emphasize the development and exposure of the sport. We will have two separate tiers for each sport; tier one will consist mostly of 7th and 8th graders, and tier two will consist primarily of 5th and 6th graders.
Each intramural sport will require a medical release form, a physical form, and a fee of $65. The fees will help cover coaches’ fees and uniforms and help build our budget for future sports. We accept cash but prefer a check. There are two ways to submit the medical forms: the first is to upload the documents to the registration form, and the second is to hand them in during tryouts. The payment will be due during the tryout phase of each sport.
About a month before the start of the intramural sports season, I will send out a registration form. Filling out the form will sign your child up for the sport, and they will automatically be on the team. There is a two-day tryout process that will be an assessment of what the coaches want to work on throughout the intramural season.
This is a very exciting time for New Summit, and I am very excited to be a part of it. Our expectations are high for our future sports. We will have a full slate of competitive sports next school year. Adding boys and girls soccer and boys and girls track and field on top of the sports listed above.
Here is the Boys Club Basketball Registration Link. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Athletic Director
I moved to Colorado Springs in August of 2023. I grew up in North County San Diego in a suburb called Encinitas. This is my first year as a teacher and I have loved every minute of it!
I started my coaching career in San Diego coaching all levels from 9u up to varsity. I also coached middle school flag football in the off season. I coached for over four years in San Diego before I stepped into college coaching.
My college coaching career has taken me all over the country. I have had multiple roles coaching baseball at the 2-year and 4-year levels. The first college I coached at was John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois. Then I coached at Willamette University in Salem, OR. Most recently I coached at the University of Wisconsin Platteville in Platteville, WI. I also have experience coaching summer baseball in the New York Collegiate Baseball League for the Sherrill Silversmiths.
My master’s degree is in sports administration from Arkansas State University. I am proud to say that I am a part of New Summit and that I have the opportunity to build the athletics department. GO YETIS!!!
