William comes to
New Summit Charter Academy with over 33 years of teaching experience, most of that in Academy District 20. Fifth Grade was his favorite grade to teach, and he did so for at least half of those 33 years. The rest of the time, he taught Art, was a Talented and Gifted Resource Teacher, a Third Grade Teacher, and a Sixth Grade Teacher. During his time at Academy International and Ranch Creek Elementary schools, he was a trainer for the International Baccalaureate Organization, teaching teachers in the use of Inquiry and Creativity in the classroom.
William has lived in Colorado Springs for 38 years and comes here from Upstate New York, where he grew up in a family of seven. Married to a counselor, he has three children, all 18 years and older. They love Colorado and are very active in the outdoors, camping, hiking, and biking whenever they get the opportunity. William plays the guitar and is a songwriter in his free time.
