Jennifer Reissig has lived in Colorado Springs for over 40 years. As a student, she attended K-12 in Academy School District 20. She received her B.A. Degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Elementary Education and a Minor in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 2001. Jennifer has always been passionate about teaching, leading her to teach 1st-grade for 3 years at a District 11 Charter School and 2nd grade for 9 years at The Classical Academy.
After teaching for 12 years, she knew she wanted to grow professionally, so she attended the Principal Institute in 2018 to become a Colorado Licensed School Administrator. Jennifer brings 19 years of experience and involvement in Charter Schools to New Summit Charter Academy. She has been an integral part of New Summit since the beginning; she was one of our Founding Families and also served as a Founding Board Member. In addition, she was New Summit's first Assistant Principal for four years and moved into the role of Principal in 2022. Her enthusiasm for education and her strong desire to mentor staff and teachers has dramatically influenced our school community since opening New Summit Charter Academy in 2018.
