Erin was born and raised in upstate New York, where most of her family still resides. She then attended the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, where she earned her B.A. Degree in Elementary Education K-6 and a minor in Psychology.
She began teaching at Genesis Elementary School in Tampa, Florida, a prestigious college preparatory school. Erin taught 3rd grade at Genesis for many years and was the upper elementary lead for the last six years. Her curriculum focused on teaching core values and the pillars of Literacy and Mathematics to build a solid educational foundation.
Erin is a founding teacher of New Summit Charter Academy, where she began as a Third-Grade teacher. She then moved to the NSCA Middle School to teach Leadworthy, our Character and leadership program through Capturing Kids Hearts, for three years. Erin has built strong relationships with students and strives to meet their educational and emotional needs.
Education has been a calling for her and is something she is greatly passionate about. After being in the classroom for 18 years, she has decided to move into the Dean of Academic & Assessments position so she could impact more students and make a bigger difference. After a year in the Dean role, she then moved into the role of the Assistant Principal and is starting her second year in this role. She continues to build positive relationships with students and staff; mentoring and serving others are her true passions.
