About the Gala

The New Summit Charter Academy Love of Learning Gala was designed as a fun night out for our school community to raise money that will be invested in our children’s future and help to foster their love of learning.  Our hope is that this event will bring our community together and help to build relationships with those around us.
The 2018-2019 school year is the first school year for New Summit Charter Academy. We have been able to flourish as a school community with the help and support of our amazing families and sponsors, of course not without our share of bumps along the way. As we looked into the next phase of construction on our building, we decided to pick Health & Wellness as the theme for our First Inaugural Gala.
The health and wellness resources we want to focus our fundraising on are threefold:
  • Building our school a cafeteria and helping us get the best nutritious lunches for our students.
  • Making our school’s playground better and safer with new tools and equipment.
  • Creating a happy and safe school environment with proper staffing, support, and development of our school.
We would be honored if you would consider being a part of the New Summit Charter Academy Love of Learning Gala and help us continue to grow and flourish as a school and community.

Why Purple & Lavender?

Since the Love of Learning Gala will be a yearly event, we wanted to choose a color with meaning. Our main color theme is Purple and Lavender.

The color purple is a rare occurring color in nature and as a result, it is often seen as having a sacred meaning. Purple has a variety of effects on the mind and body, including uplifting the spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred, creating feelings of spirituality, increasing nurturing tendencies and sensitivity, and encouraging imagination and creativity.

75% of children tend to prefer purple over other colors, most likely because it is considered magical and unique.

Purple also symbolizes wisdom which is another word for knowledge. Knowledge – Core Knowledge is the basis of our curriculum as well as our school. It also is the color that stands for the humanitarian meaning of doing good for others and achieving a lot for the less fortunate which is something New Summit strives to do.

The color lavender suggests uniqueness and specialness and lavender flowers are considered to be delicate and precious – just like all the children we serve.
