There is a lot of work that goes into getting a new charter school approved and up and running. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from board members, volunteers, and the community. The State of Colorado acknowledges this in their startup grant program by allowing schools that end up having to run a lottery for seats, to give the first 20% of enrollment opening to Founding Families and Staff Members.
What is a Founding Family?
A Founding Family is a family that puts in at least 25 volunteer hours into helping get a charter school started. Once a family has completed 25 volunteer hours, their children are guaranteed an enrollment spot once the school opens. The goal is for these families to become the heartbeat of the school. They help get the school started, give feedback, and go the extra mile to ensure a great school for the entire community!

If you would like to become a Founding Family, please fill out this form. Once you fill out the form, you will receive an email with more details. You will also be added to a private Facebook group where you will be able to collaborate with other Founding Families, volunteers, and board members on volunteer work and other things you can do to help our school get started. We are excited to hear what talents you might have that could help our school be the best it can be!
